Furnas Walking Tour - Full Day

This walking tour with circular route, approximately 10 km away, develops along the shore of the Furnas lagoon and naturalized pastures and reconverted in forest areas, passing through the boiler area, where is made the traditional Cozido das Furnas.
At the end of our walk, we will take you to the thermal baths, in the Poça D. Beija will have the opportunity to bathe and relax in hot springs with temperatures of 39 degrees, as well as enjoy a visit to the factory of Tea Gorreana where you will be offered a tea.
Our walking tour through the Furnas lagoon starts at the center of the village, where we will walk to the lake.
Already next to the lagoon, we follow another path, which leads us to the viewpoint of Pico do Ferro, where at an altitude of 570 meters, we can see again the lagoon and the village of Furnas.
When we leave the Pico do Ferro Viewpoint, we descend until we enter a small forest lined with criptomérias, which guides us to the top of the crater of the Furnas volcano where we can see the Furnas lagoon again, but with different perspectives.
We return down to the lagoon, by the “Enchanted Forest”, which through a green forest and with different endemic trees, we are accompanied by the symphony of the birds and by the aroma of the soil and the trees and plants that we are meeting at path, which gives us a relaxing and relaxed stroll.
Along the margin of the Furnas Lake, we will see some small springs, as well as a number of wood carvings made by the renowned artist Emmanuel Courtot, we will pass next to one of the highest Araucarias in the World and we will highlight the Ermitage Nossa Senhora das Victorias, built in the Sec XIX in Gothic style.
After rounding the lake, we continue towards the village of Furnas until the Thermal Pool’s D. Beija, where we will give you some time to relax and have a thermal bath.
Upon our return to Ponta Delgada, we will make a stop at an existing tea factory on the north coast of S. Miguel, before leaving it back to your Hotel.
