Located in the centre of Portugal, Fatima’s Sanctuary is the 4th biggest catholic place of pilgrimage in the world. Until 1917, Fatima was an unknown village. It became known worldwide for the Marian apparitions to the three little shepherds that took place there between 13 May and 13 October 1917. The Sanctuary of Fatima brought development, being elevated to the city on July 12, 1997. The Sanctuary has an environment of serenity and light, inviting prayer, reflection and harmony of mind. Regardless of religious belief, no one is indifferent to the universe of tranquility and faith that finds there.
