More than "a tourist service", we want to offer to those who wish to travel along the Douro River aboard the Arraes, a mixture of sensorial experiences and knowledge about the history and the stories of the city and the region.

The customization, exclusivity and type of boat (typically Dutch fluvial construction) with a maximum capacity of 10 people (+2 crew) complement RiverSoul's identity.

With experiences with a duration of 2h30, of 1 or more days, according to the wishes of the client, in all of them will be served a menu of tasting Portuguese appetizers and, of course, Douro wine and Port wine. More than "a tourist service", RiverSoul wants to offer to those who wish to travel along the Douro River aboard the Arraes, a mixture of sensorial experiences and knowledge about the history and the stories of the city and the region.

Model Valkvlet of 11.30m with design by Th. Gillissen, built in the Netherlands in 1978 by Van der Valk, has been in the last 15 years the property of a Dutch couple who, already retired, sailed every year during the 3 months of summer by diverse rivers and canals in Europe, especially in France.

Now in the Douro River, rebaptized as Arraes in a simple tribute to the men who over the course of almost two centuries crossed the Douro River in command of the Rabelo Boats, overcoming the obstacles, aggressiveness and perilous, dangers of a Rio not yet tamed by dams and that few people remember.

Features : Typical fluvial boat with iron hull, mahogany solid wood interior and exterior deck in Teka, it is 11.30m long and 3.30m wide, two cabins, kitchen and bathroom with shower. It has a capacity for 12 people (10+ 2 crew) and is decorated to give you the comfort you deserve, allowing you to navigate the entire navigable stretch of the Douro River, from Porto to Barca D'Alva.


🤔 How to be aboard the Arraes:

With good disposition, relaxed, experienced senses and pleasure in sharing the experience with the family or with the friends that accompany it. From the rest we treat ourselves!

⚠ The unforeseen happen to all ...
To change the date of boarding or the number of people on board, requires the payment of 25% up to two before the reserved date. During the day prior to the reservation, it is not possible to make any type changes.

If the unforeseen event obliges you to cancel the program until 48h00 on the date of shipment implies the loss of 50% of the amount already paid. Cancellation during the day prior to the date of reservation or prevent the presence at the time of shipment, this implies the total loss of the amount already paid.

The climatic and navigation conditions or determinations of the Port of Douro Harbor Authority may prevent any of the chosen experiences from being carried out. In this case Riversoul reserves the right to cancel and postpone to a new date, without penalty for it.

📅 Navigating the Arraes is possible ...
In any month, day or hour, unless climacteric humors out of time, the natural order of the Seasons or the exaltation of Rio do not allow it. But autumn and winter have their own beauty, and we do not want to deprive you of that opportunity, so we are always available to give you the pleasure of being on board.

Ah ... of course, as in everything (or almost), there is always the hand of Man! In this case, it is necessary to maintain the locks, which occurs between January 1 and mid March, so that the routes that include the transposition of dams will not be performed.

To be on board the Arraes, we advise as a minimum age to 4 years of age, but we do not prevent anyone wanting to do with a lower age.

Children between the ages of 5 and 10 receive a special price of 50%
