Walking Tour at Mistérios Negros Trail (Full Day)

On the way to the interior of the island, you will have the opportunity to observe the fields where the brave cattle live, as well as how rich is the interior of the island, preserved and maintained by the locals throughout the centuries to the present day. We pass in the middle of a volcano, the Pico da Bagacina, arriving at the location of the trail where you will be dazzled by the beautiful Lagoa do Negro.

The trail develops in the area where one of the most recent eruptions of Terceira Island, surrounded by pastures, cryptomeria forest among other species that complement the breathtaking endemic vegetation. In the final area of the trail, we have the opportunity to observe the crater of Pico Gaspar volcano, rich in endemism. Our picnic lunch will be in Lagoa das Patas with its natural surroundings where you can breathe the fresh air of the forest, and try to interact with the friendly ducks that inhabit it.

After Lunch, we will go to the interior of the land, to visit the grotto of Natal, from the origin of the Lávicos tubes, and with various geological structures such as different types of lava, stalactites, and side counters. On the return to Angra do Heroísmo we will pause in the Caldeira do Guilherme Moniz, a protected area of resource management of the Natural Park of Terceira, characterized by the presence of protected species of the Macaronesian forest. Still, time to visit the Quinta dos Açores, one of the reference places to buy local products
